Dean M. Eddington, 63, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away at 1:23 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.

He was born May 15, 1958 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, the son of E. Dale and Marilyn (Kraft) Eddington.

Dean was a 1977 graduate of LaHarpe High School. He worked at Heartland Harley-Davidson in Burlington, IA for the past 17 years. He enjoyed collecting antiques, wood working, working on motorcycles and cars and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by his mother: Marilyn Eddington of LaHarpe; three daughters: Dana (Alex) Blythe of LaHarpe, Erica (Drew) Carroll of Carthage, Illinois and Tess (Kyle) Hartzell of Ankeny, Iowa, six grandchildren: Keith, Ainsley, Weston and Wyatt Blythe and Vivian and Eleanor Carroll; one sister: Deanna Cibak of Newton, New Jersey; several cousins, nieces, nephews and his Heartland HD work family.

He was preceded in death by his father: Dale and grandparents: Lloyd and Pearl Eddington and Glenn and Ethel Kraft.

The funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2022 at the LaHarpe Union Church with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the LaHarpe Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends on Sunday from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe.
