Dawn Ann Chaney, 50, of rural LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.

Dawn was born September 23, 1972 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Donald P. And Barbara S. (Todd) McCoy. On December 26, 1992 she married Sean Daniel Chaney at the Lomax Nazerene Church, Lomax, Illinois.

Dawn was a 1990 graduate of LaHarpe High School. She worked at Methode in Carthage until its closing. She then worked for Casey's and Dollar General both in LaHarpe. Dawn enjoyed participating in Sean's fishing and hunting hobbies. Her greatest love was her family.

Survivors include two sons: Nick and Austin Chaney both of LaHarpe, one daughter: Katie Chaney of Keokuk, Iowa, her father: Donald McCoy of LaHarpe; three grandchildren: Calliope, Louis and Lyanna Thompson; one brother: Brian (Betty) McCoy of LaHarpe; two sisters: Shelly (John) Cunningham of Carthage and Lori (Steve) Fickel of Buhler, Kansas and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents.

A time of remembrance for both Sean and Dawn will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe.
