David H. Peterson, age 52 of Knoxville, Illinois died at 6:54 a.m. Wednesday April 27, 2011 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. He was born December 4, 1958 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Gear E. and E. Lorraine Johnson Peterson. On December 23, 1978, he married Patricia Dooley in Stronghurst.

Mr. Peterson had worked in construction and owned operated a painting business in Stronghurst for several years. He was currently employed as a truck driver for Carlson Trucking in Galesburg. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, plastic models and art. He was a member of the Stronghurst Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, his mother of Stronghurst, four sons- Lucas (Crystal) Peterson of Oquawka, IL., Jacob (Lindsey) Peterson of Galva, IL., Benjamin and Jonathan Peterson, both at home, two grandchildren, one great grandson, one sister - Karen (Rod) Nichols of Stronghurst, and four brothers- Jeff (Debbie) Peterson, Quentin (Kris) Peterson and Pat (Janet) Peterson all of Stronghurst, and Kenneth (Rhonda) Peterson of Biggsville, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

The funeral for Mr. Peterson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday May 2, 2011 in the Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst with Rev. Steve Minkler officiating. Burial will follow in the Stronghurst Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon until 2:00 P.M. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.banksandbeals.com
