Darryl "Buck" Williams
Mr. Darryl Buck Williams, 62, of Pontoosuc, Illinois passed away Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 2:30 P.M. at the Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois. He was born November 27, 1944 on Lock Springs, Missouri, the son of Tom and Delores Bohnenkamp Williams. He was first married to Wanda Suzie Waterbury in May 1978. She died November 1, 1991. On September 7, 1994 he married Jamie K. Petty.
He was a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the US Army. He worked for Building Materials in Fort Madison, Iowa and for American Ordinance in Middletown, Iowa. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed Nascar, especially Dale Earnhardt Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Jamie K. Williams, one son Jamie L. Mac (Angie) Williams of Denmark, Iowa, three grandchildren, Olivia, Landes and Kane Williams, five brothers, Tom (Barb) Williams, Troy (Rinda) Williams all of Lock Springs, John (Cindy) Williams, Neil (Dana) Williams all of Chillicothe, Missouri and Sam (Tammy) Williams of Avalon, Missouri, five sisters, Cheryl (Will) Huffman, Myra (Kyle) Gaunt and Jo (Tom) Brewer all of Lock Springs, Phyllis (Glen) Virtue of Princeton, Missouri and Pat (Jim) Moore of Hendersonville, Tennessee, several nieces and nephews and his mother-in-law, Irene Petty and his brother-in-law, Rusty Petty, both of Dallas City.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, an infant sister and his parents.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Military Rites provided by the Dallas City American Legion. Rev. Paul Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Harris Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call after 4:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday. A memorial fund has been established for his grandchildrens education.
