Darin Lynn Gentry, 58, of Dallas City, Illinois, passed away at 6:13 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025 at his home.

Darin was born December 10, 1966 in Fort Madison, Iowa, the son of Jerry L. and Anna Maisie (Benda) Gentry.

Mr. Gentry was raised and educated in Dallas City. He graduated from Dallas City High School in 1985. Following high school, he attended Carl Sandburg College before beginning a career at the Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gaming, and especially trucks and cars. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Survivors include his brother: Bryon (Teresa) Gentry of Burlington, Iowa, one nephew: Trevor Gentry and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2025 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City.

A memorial service will be held following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Menschel officiating.
