Danny Lee Magner, age 63 of Media, Illinois passed away at 10:55 a.m. Sunday January 10, 2016 at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois. He was born March 24, 1952 in Macomb, Illinois, the son of Kenneth and Mable Davis Magner.

Danny was a 1971 graduate of Media-Wever High School in Media, Illinois. He then served in the United States Army from 1973 until 1983, stationed in Germany and Korea. Following his military service, he drove a taxi for Yellow Cab Company in Burlington, Iowa for several years. He also served on the M.S.T. Fire Department for several years. He enjoyed reading and solving crossword puzzles, and loved his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his mother, of Media, two brothers, David (Linda) Magner of Duncan, SC, Steve (Leora) Magner of Media, two sisters, Vickie (Randy) Lucas and Janet Magner, both of West Burlington, IA, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Karen, in infancy.

A Celebration Of Life will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Thursday January 14, 2016 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. Burial will be at a later date in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, near Media. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Henderson County Health Department.
