Lillie Cordelia "Cordie" Shipman, 90, of Orlando, Florida, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the AdventHealth Altamonte Springs Hospice in Altamonte Springs, Florida with her 3 children at her side.

Cordie was born July 11, 1935 in DeWitt, Missouri, the daughter of Marvin and Lois (Ward) Gowing. On October 9, 1954 she married Audrey E. Shipman in Kansas City. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2000.

Mrs. Shipman was raised and educated in Kansas City. Her Christian faith was of the utmost importance to her. As a young girl, she attended Bethel Tabernacle Assembly of God church in Kansas City. As a young mother, she attended Calvary Assembly of God in Carthage, Illinois, with her husband and children. As life took her to different communities, she always found a church home. In addition to being active in her church, she also volunteered at the Missouri Council of the Blind in Springfield, Missouri. Besides rearing their 3 children, she worked numerous jobs, including Assistant Librarian at Western Illinois University, typesetter for the Journal-Pilot Newspaper, and lastly as a medical transcriptionist for an Oncologist in Springfield, Missouri.

Survivors include three children: David (Marilee) Shipman of Webster, Illinois, Susan (Jeff) Bunn of Fostoria, Ohio, and Betsy (Carl) Jackson of Orlando, Florida; ten grandchildren: James (Joy) Barger, Tyler (Blair) Shipman, Audrey (Scott) Glomski, Austin (Hannah) Shipman, Michael (Mallory) Barger, Lauren (Travis) Sterrett, Tess (DJ) Marrah, Taylor (Claudio) Cosme, Matthew (Sydney) Papale, and Alec (Emily) Papale and 13 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson: Jarrod Barger, and two sisters: Nancy Estebo and Marva Jean Wetzel.

Banks & Beals Funeral Home of LaHarpe is assisting the family.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Calvary Church, 720 Miller St., Carthage, Illinois. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00p.m. at the church.

Burial will be at the Webster Cemetery, Webster, Illinois.
