Clyde William Wheatley

Clyde William Wheatley, age 69 of Stronghurst, Illinois died at 9:00 P.M. Saturday April 26, 2008 at his home. He was born April 6, 1939 in Dallas City, Illinois, the son of Herbert and Minnie Williams Wheatley. On June 30, 1995, he married Madge Johnson Ryan in Stronghurst.

Mr. Wheatley was a U.S. army veteran. He had worked as a farm hand for Dick Peasley Farms near Stronghurst for many years. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Stronghurst Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, his mother- Minnie Wheatley of LaHarpe, three daughters - Lora (and Darrell) Dannon of Sheffield, IA., Luann Smith of Hampton, IA., Jodell Wheatley of Arkansas, four sons - Herbert, Harold, Ricky and Tristan Wheatley, all of Biggsville, IL., three step daughters - Lisa (and Raymond) Heine of Rockwell, IA., Theresa (and Tom) Merlo of Philadelphia, PA., Tina Rogers of Arkansas, five stepsons - Sean (and Sara) Ryan of Stronghurst, Bill Rogers of Iowa, Russell(and Sue) Bransfield of Levittown, NY., Steven (and Lucille) Bransfield of Virginia Beach, VA., David (and Sharon) Bransfield of Commack, NY., twenty eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two sisters - Virginia (and Mike) Palmer of LaHarpe, IL., Rosetta Wheatley of What Cheer, IA., one brother - Gene (and Sharon) Wheatley of Burnside, IL., and one sister in law - Lorraine Peterson. He was preceded in death by his father - two sisters - Joan and Norma, and two brothers - Robert and David.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday April 30, 2008 in the Stronghurst Christian Church with Ron Kelly officiating. A memorial fund has been established for the family.
