Clinton L. Sears, 93, of Macomb, IL formerly of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 11:03p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the Memorial Hospital in Carthage, IL.

He was born September 11, 1928 in Pilot Grove Twp, Hancock County, IL, the son of Gilbert LeRoy and Tressie Woodside Sears. On June 20, 1948 he married Eleanor Bice in LaHarpe.

Clinton was a 1947 graduate of LaHarpe High School and a member of the LaHarpe Christian Church. He farmed and worked in construction. He enjoyed working in his workshop and creating gifts for his family. He was quick witted and always teased his grandkids. He loved to play pitch "as long as he won!"

Surviving are his wife, Eleanor, five daughters, Peggy (Duane) Durst of Wellman, IA, Patty (David) Howell of Sevierville, TN, Linda (Fred) Nott of Jefferson City, TN, Cindy Feld of Colchester, IL and Becky (Gary) Smith of LaHarpe, one son Rusty (Katie) Sears of Plainview, NE, sixteen grandchilden, thirty-five great-grandchildren with another great-grandchild on the way, one great-great-granddaughter, one sister-in-law, Jill Sears of Townsend, TN and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, three brothers (one in infancy), son-in-law, Dave Feld and one granddaughter, Megan Nott.

The family will meet with friends Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 9:00 until 10:3 am at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe. Graveside services will follow at 10:45 a.m. at LaHarpe Cemetery with John Simmons and Nate McCarter officiating. A memorial fund has been established for the Wesley Village Benevolent Fund and the Camp Kidz for Autism and Special Needs.
