Charles E. White, 90, of Macomb, Illinois passed away at 6:49 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Wesley Village in Macomb.

He was born September 21, 1934 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the son of Hollis and Mary Wolford White. On December 17, 1954 he married M. Elaine Hodges in LaHarpe.

Chuck was a graduate of the Abingdon, Illinois High School. He was employed at the Disco, Illinois Elevator for 11 years, Sylvania in Burlington, Iowa for 1 year, and 23 years at Iowa Industries. He later worked as custodian at LaHarpe schools for 8 years and also drove a bus for 18 years.

He was a member of the Durham United Methodist Church, the Blandinsville Odd Fellows and was a 50 year member of the LaHarpe Lions Club where he served on the District Cabinet.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine, 3 daughters, Kathleen (Terry) Rouse of Macomb, Kim (Rick) Walker of Macomb and Janice (Larry) Caston of Burlington, Iowa, 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, 2 brothers, Dick (Sharon) White of Oro Valley, Arizona and Bob (Janice) White of Burlington, Iowa and 2 sisters, Pat (Bob) Gray of Abingdon, Illinois and Mary (Layne) Lovell of Fenton, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Lawrence White.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. A. Lee Unger and Jerod Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the LaHarpe Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Saturday from Noon until time of service. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday between 1:00 and 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Wesley Village or the LaHarpe Lion's Club.
