Mr. Charles Wayne Oaks, 61, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 6:00 P.M. at his home.

He was born July 17, 1946 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Seth and Catherine Magee Oaks. On November 9, 1998 he married Juanita Bundy.
Mr. Oaks served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver for 34 years, driving for Star Transport and most recently for Barr-Nunn Transportation. He was a member of the VFW in Carthage, IL and the LaHarpe American Legion Post 301.

He is survived by his wife, 5 daughters, Crystal West of Monmouth, IL, Melody Shryack of Altona, IL, Tanya Lynn Haines of Blandinsville, IL, Cynthia Marie Dennis of Memphis, MO and Angela Oaks of Seward, Nebraska, 6 grandchildren, 1 step-grandson, 1 great-grandson, 1 sister, Beverly Salyers of Roseville, IL, 1 niece and 1 great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandson, William Seth Oaks and 1 step-daughter, Diana Kay Bundy.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, September 9, 2007 at the Moose Club in Galesburg, IL. Burial will be held at a later date in the Biggsville Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Blessing Hospice of Hancock County or St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
