Catherine E. Wagner

, 97, of Colusa, IL passed away at 5:50 PM Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.

She was born May 19, 1918 in Colusa, the daughter of Lloyd R. And Madge E. Newton Owings. On April 4, 1937 she married Robert R. Wagner near Colusa. He preceded her in death on September 8, 1984.

Mrs. Wagner was a 1935 graduate of the Colusa High School. She served as a 4-H Leader and was a 50year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Burnside Chapter. She traveled extensively in the United States, Europe and New Zealand. She and her husband hosted 16 young boys from New Zealand over the years. They also hosted an Egyptian farmer in the early 1970's. She was a member of the Colusa United Methodist Church where she taught Pre K Sunday School and belonged to the churchs Missionary Society.

She is survived by one son, Robert (Carol) Wagner, Jr. of rural Colusa and one daughter Judy (Lou) Hribar of Orem UT, 6 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren, Brenda Wagner of Colusa, Tom (Lisa) Wagner of Santa Barbara, CA, Jennifer (Greg) Harl of rural Colusa, Catherine (Frank) Grizzell of Deatsville, AL, Jennifer (Rich) Jacob of Orem UT, Lori (Matt) Oehler of South Jordan, UT, Krista (Peter) Kreklow of Leucadia, CA, Scott Hribar of Zeng Cheng City, China and Karen Hummel of Carlsbad, CA and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 granddaughter, Catherine Wagner, 2 brothers, Donald and Dale Owings and 1 sister, Carol Louden.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Dave Poland officiating. Burial will be in the Durham Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00PM Friday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. A memorial fund has been established for the Colusa United Methodist Church and the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.
