Mr. Fred Cameron, 76, of Nauvoo, IL, formerly of LaHarpe and Fountain Green, IL passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 9:21 AM at St. Johns Hospial in Springfield, IL.

He was born September 22, 1937 in Franklin, KY, the son of Norman Mathew and Emma Gertrude West Cameron. On February 13, 1964 he married Wanda Mae Bundy Torrence. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2008.

Mr. Cameron worked for the city of LaHarpe for many years, first for the water department, then deputy city marshall and finally as LaHarpe City Marshall. He also worked for the Hancock County Sheriffs office as a dispatcher. He retired in 2000 after 28 years in law enforcement.

He is survived by a daughter, Candy Sue Carle of Nauvoo, a son, Ed Torrence of LaHarpe, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister, Willadean Cook and a daughter, Joan Sherwood.

As per his wishes, no services are planned. Banks and Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe is assisting the family.
