Obituary



Cale Jameson Hartrick, 17, of Dallas City, IL passed away at 9:51 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City, IA.

He was born on December 22, 1998 in Merriam, KS, the son of James Dean and Deanna Michelle May Hartrick.

Cale attended grade school and junior-high in Dallas City and was currently a member of the junior class at the Illini West High School in Carthage, IL. He was a member of the baseball and basketball teams for the Illini West Chargers. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes Fan. He enjoyed playing video games with his Squad. His contagious smile and outgoing personality touched all who knew him.

Survivors include his parents, Dean and Deanna Hartrick of Dallas City, three sisters, Zoey, Marah and Emma Hartrick all at home, paternal grandfather, Jim and his wife Debbie Hartrick of Hamilton, IL, maternal grandparents, Randy and Ellen May of Lomax, IL, several aunts, uncles, cousins and his girlfriend, Maddie Shutwell.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Sina Hartrick, and his great-grandparents.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at the Illini West High School Gymnasium in Carthage with Pastor Chris Carr officiating. Burial will be held at Crane Cemetery, near Lomax. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Gymnasium where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for a scholarship fund in Cales memory, the University of Iowa Dance Marathon, HUGS of Hancock County or a charity of the donors choice. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City is in charge of arrangements.
