Ruth M. Brown, age 91 of LaHarpe, Illinois died at 6:05 A.M. Wednesday September 26, 2007 in the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center in LaHarpe. She was born September 9, 1916 in Marietta, Illinois, the daughter of Clyde and Goldie Grafton Smith. On November 15, 1933, she married Earnest G. Brown in Lewistown, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2006.

Mrs Brown was a lifelong resident of the LaHarpe area, and enjoyed gardening and canning.

Survivors include one daughter - Joan Hughes of LaHarpe, one son- Harold Brown, of LaHarpe, 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and one brother - Loren Smith of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday September 29, 2007 in the LaHarpe Cemetery with Harry Miller officiating. No Visitation is planned. Memorials have been established for Blessing Hospice of Hancock County, and the LaHarpe Davier Health Care Center. Banks & Beals Funeral Home of LaHarpe is assisting the family with arrangements
