Myrtle L. Brown

Myrtle Leola Brown, 89, of rural Niota, IL passed away at 5:05 PM Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Ft. Madison Community Hospital, Ft. Madison, IA. She was born on January 28, 1925 in Niota, the daughter of Frank and Susie Seigfried Brown.
Myrtle was a lifelong resident of Niota. Early in life she attended school in rural Niota and later worked for the IAAP in Middletown, IA and Ross Manufacturing in Burlington, IA. She was of the Presbyterian Faith.
Survivors include three sisters, Ileen Brown of Niota, Norma Quesenberry of Carthage, and Mary (Charles) Black of Burnside, a sister-in-law Dora Jean Brown of Lancaster, MO, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Hazel Brown, brother Lee Brown, infant brother Clarence and brother-in-law Marvin Quesenberry.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 24, 2014 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, with Pastor Algie Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Tull Cemetery, Rural Niota. A visitation will be held from 1:00 until time of services on Monday. A memorial fund has been established for the Sherrick Home Health Nurse Services.
