With profound love and deep sorrow, the family of Bonnie Duffie announces her peaceful passing on November 27,2025 at The Elms in Macomb, Illinois with her husband and daughter by her side. Bonnie left this world with the same quiet grace, strength, and kindness that she carried throughout her life.

Bonnie was born on October 23, 1946, in Columbus, Ohio, to Naomi (Logan) and Kenneth Mudd. Raised in California, she later made her home in LaHarpe, Illinois, where she moved in 1977. In 1978, she married Neal Baker, who preceded her in death in 1982. She found love again and married Michael Duffie in 1998, who survives her. They later moved to Blandinsville in 2002.

Bonnie dedicated her entire career to working with the public, forming connections and friendships everywhere she went. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome, understood, and valued. To know her was truly to love her.

Family was the center of Bonnie's world. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her children Steve (Marla) Caywood, Noel (Brian) Duncan, and Teri (Kate) Duffie.

She was the proud grandmother of Ashley (Jim) Beck, Zachary Caywood, Brittany (Aaron) Mowen, Dallas Cramer, and Taylor Phelps; and great-grandmother of Brooklyn, Hadlee, Waylon, Oaklynn, and Crew and God grandson Chase Heath. She also cherished her two nieces, Dina Torrance and Donalyn Frazer, whom she always considered her own.

Bonnie is survived by her siblings Roberta Dawson and Don (Marlyn) Williams, sisters in law, Carron (Ken) Foster, Cathie (Ray) Bunch and brothers in law, Lenus (Barb) Duffie and John (Kathy) Duffie as well as several nieces and nephews. She shared a lifelong, unbreakable bond with her best friend, Pam Swisher— a friendship filled with laughter, loyalty, and countless memories.

She was preceded in death by her mother, stepson, Matthew Duffie, brother in law Doug Duffie and sister in law, Kate Duffie

Bonnie's heart was her greatest gift: generous and endlessly loving. Her family takes comfort in knowing that her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped and the love she poured into everyone around her.

A visitation to honor Bonnie's life will be held at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe on Friday, December 5, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.  followed with a Celebration of Life at Slup's in Blandinsville.

Her absence leaves an ache that cannot be measured, but the love she gave will last in our lives forever.
