Billy L. Williams, age 54 of Stronghurst, Illinois died at 2:00 P.M. Thursday March 31, 2011 in the University Of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. He was born October 28, 1956, the son of Robert and Louise Shafer Williams.

Billy was a lifelong resident of Stronghurst. In 1975, he graduated from Southern High School. He had been employed at Coles Implement in Media, and was an auto body repair man for Stronghurst Auto Body in Stronghurst and Royers Auto Body in Burlington. More recently he was employed at REC Recycling Company in Stronghurst.

Survivors include one brother - Jodie Shafer of Monmouth and three nephews.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No visitation is planned. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 7, 2011 in the Stronghurst Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Memorials may be left at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. .
