Billy D. Collins, 62, of Eldon, IA passed away at 10:35 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Vista Woods Nursing Home in Ottumwa, IA.

He was born on March 9, 1954 in LaHarpe, IL the son of Elmer Elsworth Bill and Josephine Ruth Lorton Collins. On May 17, 1975 he married Leslie Fisher in Wapello, IA. They later divorced.

Mr. Collins was a 1972 graduate of the LaHarpe High School. Billy worked most of his life as a car salesman most recently for Vaughn Automotive in Ottumwa. He was an avid car enthusiast and especially loved Corvettes.

Survivors include, two sons, Aaron Collins of South Daytona, FL and Bradley (Leslie Johnson) Collins of Springfield, IL, one daughter, Kathryn (Joshua) Bundy of LaHarpe, one step-daughter, Stacey Watson of Polk City, IA, eight grandchildren, one brother, Terry (Barbara) Collins of Macomb, IL, and one sister, Margo (Phil) Gray of Chillicothe, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. Burial will be held at the LaHarpe Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the Hospice of Wapello and Davis Counties.
