Thomas A. Biggieri, Jr.

Mr. Thomas Anthony Biggieri, Jr., 76, of Dallas City, IL passed away at 6:50 AM Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Memorial Hospital in Carthage, IL.

Thomas was born on December 12, 1939 in Waltham, MA, the son of Thomas Anthony, Sr. and Florence Brown Biggieri. He Married Mary Ellen Murphy. She survives.
Thomas served in the United States Navy. After his time in the service he went to work for Metal Bellows in Sharon, MA, where he retired from after 30 years. He then moved to Dallas City where he had resided the past 27 years. Thomas took up a retirement job as a janitor for Gregory Manufacturing in Fort Madison, IA, where he worked for 12 years.

Thomas was a diehard New England Patriots fan. He also loved to play golf and was an avid follower of the PGA. Mr. Biggieri was a friend to all and had never met a stranger. Above all, Thomas family was his biggest love.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Ellen; six children: Donna (Andy) Dobson of Niota, IL, Thomas Biggieri of Calhoun, GA, Timothy (Karen) Murphy of West Warwick, RI, Beth (Joe) Lumino of Fort Madison, IA, Michelle (Dustin) Detherage of LaHarpe, IL and Julie Biggieri of Stronghurst, IL; one brother: Richard Biggieri of Foxborough, MA; three sisters: Joan Hallett of Franklin, MA, Anne Leate of Watertown, MA and Susan Biggieri of Massachusetts; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Debbie Sylvia; and one great-grandson: Matthew Bible.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City. Following the visitation, a memorial service will begin at 7:00 PM, also at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.
