Beverley Dianne Brown, age 77 of Carman, Illinois, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Monday August 21, 2017 at the Bickford Assisted Living and Memory Care, of Burlington. She was born June 22, 1940 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Betty Burrell Fulkerson. On October 7, 1961, she married William E. Brown in Lomax, Illinois.
Mrs. Brown was employed at Champion Spark Plug in Burlington for over 30 years. She was a 1958 graduate of Stronghurst High School. She was active in the Henderson County Democratic Party, the Gaudy Gals of Stronghurst and Glitzy Gals of Lomax, the Late Bloomer Garden Club, the E.C Blackmor Chapter #306 of the Order Of The Eastern Star, UAW Local 1237 of Burlington, Lomax-Carman Senior Citizens, and the Lomax Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include one daughter, Tina (Richard) Waterman of Carman, one son, Sheldon (Jodie) Brown of Portland, OR, eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Chase) Gibb, Danielle (Kevin) Clark, Hannah Waterman, Jocelyn (Andrew) O'Daniels, Angelica Brown, Alexis Brown, Joe Brown, and Tyler Brown, seven great grandchildren, Hudson and Kya Gibb, Maddelynne, Nikko, and Willow O'Daniels, Lillianna Clark, and Mariah Gutierrez, one brother, Roger Fulkerson and one sister, Ginger Strausbaugh, both of Burlington, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
The funeral for Mrs. Brown will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday August 25, 2017 at the Lomax Christian Church with Pastor Maxine Dennison officiating. Burial will follow in the Carman Cemetery. Eastern Star Rites will be held at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, followed by visitation with the family from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst.
