Betty L. Hainline, 84, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Monday, March 28, 2011 at 8:45 A.M. at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center where she had resided since October 2010.

She was born April 19, 1926 near Carthage, Illinois the daughter of Charles and Marlyn Grotts Kern.

Betty liked playing cards, bingo, yahtzee and embroidering. She especially enjoyed watching her grandson race at the dirt track and spending time with her family.

She is survived by one son, Carl (Cindy) Hainline Jr. and one daughter, Marilyn Lewis all of LaHarpe, 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Ruth Jared of Abingdon, Illinois and Kathy Jackson of Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Richard Kern and 2 brothers in infancy.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. There will be no formal visitation with the family but friends are welcome to stop at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe between 3:00 and 8:00 P.M. Wednesday. A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.
