Jean Purdy

Mrs. , 87, of Macomb, IL passed away at 6:00 a.m. Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center, LaHarpe, IL.

She was born on December 26, 1926 southwest of LaHarpe, she was the daughter of Atlee and Irene Morgan Crabill. On August 25, 1946 she married Delbert E. Purdy. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1992.

Mrs. Purdy was a graduate of the LaHarpe High School, after which she spent 60 years of her life doing secretarial work at many places, retiring from Car Care in Macomb.

Delbert and Jean were farmers and Jean loved helping farm after office hours. Jean was a member of the Church of God, Abrahamic Faith in Macomb, BPW club in Macomb, Macomb Senior Citizens and charter member of McDonough Power. She and Delbert were also Square Dance club members and country music lovers.

Survivors include, one sister, Betty Gordon of Dunnigan, CA, two sister-in-laws, Lillian Crabill of LaHarpe and Helen (Glenn) Cox of Milan, IL and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Besides he husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Bill Crabill and John F. Jack Crabill.

No visitation is planned. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Richard Derry and Pastor Darrell Cardwell officiating. Memorials may be made as wished or to Church of God, Macomb, IL.
