Mrs. Barbara S. McCoy, 62, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 8:30 A.M. at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.

She was born on September 12, 1948 in LaHarpe, the daughter of Floyd and Hilda Worley Todd. On September 19, 1966 she married Donald P. McCoy in Lomax, Illinois.

She worked as a CNA earlier in life at both the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center and the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage, Illinois. She enjoyed crocheting and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, 3 daughters, Shelly Cunningham of Carthage, Illinois, Lori Simmons of Great Bend, Kansas and Dawn Chaney of LaHarpe, 1 son, Brian McCoy of Dallas City, Illinois, 13 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, 5 sisters, Ellen Lowe of Florida, Vera Bozarth of Disco, Illinois, Beverly Johnson of LaHarpe, Debbie Detherage of LaHarpe and Jane Stonger of LaHarpe and 4 brothers, Robert Todd of Disco, Illinois, Ralph Todd of Terre Haute, Illinois, James Todd of Terre Haute, Illinois and Tom Todd of LaHarpe.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 6, 2010 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. John Bremer officiating. Burial will be in the Crane Cemetery, Lomax, Illinois. There will be no formal family visitation but friends are welcome to stop at the funeral home anytime between 4 and 8PM Sunday.
