Mrs. Barbara J. Walters Logan 86, of Dallas City. IL passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Sunnybrook Assited Living in Fort Madison, IA.

She was born on April 26, 1929 in Burlington, IA, the daughter of Fred F. And Dorothy L. Johnson Howe. On October 11, 1947 Barbara married George S. Walters in LaHarpe, IL. He preceded her in death on September 8, 1997. On March 18, 2001 she married Gail Logan in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2015.

Barbara was a 1947 graduate of the LaHarpe High School. She worked as a Receptionist for Dr. Carillo in Dallas city for many years as well as various other part-time jobs in the Dallas City area. She was a member of the Dallas City Senior Citizens, where she was the former President. Barbara was also a member of the Dallas City American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, First Christian Church of Dallas City and the River of Live Fellowship in Dallas City. She also volunteered with the RSVP.

She is survived by two sons, George (Marlene) Walters of Dallas City, Ricky Walters of Galesburg, one daughter JoAnn (Dan) Flaherty of Niota, IL, two step-children Sherrie (Terry Caldwell) Pence of Burlington, Dennis (Leysa) Logan of Dallas City, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 8 step-great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Shirley Poulter of Beverly, IL and two brothers, Fred and Richard Howe both of Dallas City.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husbands, one infant daughter Dorothy June, and one sister Betty Brewer.

Services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Banks and Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Pastor Doug Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Cemetery, Dallas City. A visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the River of Life Fellowship and the Lee County Hospice.
