Barbara Jean Johnson, 59 of rural Stronghurst, Illinois died at 6:45 a.m. Saturday October 18, 2014 at her home. She was born September 1, 1955 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of William and Mary Jane Adamson Buck. On October 18, 1975, she married Murl E. Johnson in Burlington, Iowa.

Mrs. Johnson worked as a Nurses Aide at the Burlington Care Center and the Des Moines County Home. She was a member of the Veterans Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Michelle (Heath) Platz of Ankeny, IA, two sons, Eric (Deena) Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO, Patrick, (Cindy) Johnson of Santa Fe, TX, fifteen grandchildren, two sisters, Belinda and Cheryl Buck, both of Des Moines, IA, and two brothers, William Buck, Jr.,of Santa Fe, TX and Timothy Buck of Louisiana. She was preceded in death by one son in infancy, Jonathan Johnson.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation rites have been accorded.
