Barbara J Berlet
Barbara Jean Berlet, 86, of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 6:55 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center, LaHarpe.

She was born on September 18, 1929 in LaHarpe the daughter of Cecil W. and Viola R. Helmers Sutton. Barb married Bill Berlet in 1950. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2011.

She was a 1947 graduate of the LaHarpe High School. Barb worked as bookkeeper for many years at Gene & Bevs Grocery Store and Country Companies both in LaHarpe and as a custodian at the LaHarpe United Methodist Church. She also served as Treasurer of the LaHarpe Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include three daughters, Janet L. Humphrey of LaHarpe, Kathleen Dion of Northville, MI, Patricia Berlet of LaHarpe, two sons, David Berlet and Chris Berlet both of LaHarpe, two grandsons, Tony Hanks of Plymouth, MI and Jeremy Berlet of Seattle, WA, several step-grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, several step-great-grandchildren and one brother, George "Kayo" Sutton of Brunswick, MO.

Barb was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Nate McCarter officiating. Friends may call from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe.
