Anna Lou Woolverton of LaHarpe, IL died Saturday October 4, 2014 at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa. She was born to Ralph and Bernice Harl on July 13, 1928 at Burlington Hospital in Burlington, Iowa.

She married Duane Woolverton of LaHarpe, IL on February 18, 1950 at the Colusa United Brethren Church in Colusa, IL. This past February they celebrated their 64th anniversary. They lived and farmed in the Colusa area until 1985 when they moved to LaHarpe, IL.

She was a member of the Burnside Christian Church in Burnside, IL.

She attended Camp Creek School near Colusa, Il and graduated from Colusa High School in 1946. She went on to graduate from Quincy Beauty Academy in January 1947 and received her Beauticians License. She opened Anna Lous Beauty Shop in February 1947 starting a 60 year career as a Beautician. For 37 years she operated her own shop. The last 23 years she was a Beautician at the LaHarpe Davier Nursing Center in LaHarpe, IL.

She is survived by her husband Duane, four sons, Wayne of Blandinsville, IL, Gary (Sheri) of Donnellson, IA, Don (Rhonda) and Ned (Tracey) of Colusa, IL. and one sister, Dona (Howard) Sheckler of Normal, IL. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ruth (Briscoe) Menke of Colusa, IL and Rosalyn (Bill) Merriwether of Blandinsville, IL.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 7th, 2014 at Banks and Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe, IL with Pastor Mark Nichols officiating. There will be no visitation.
