Anna M. "Maisie" Gentry

Anna M. Maisie Gentry, 64, of Dallas City, Illinois passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 8:55 A.M. at the Fort Madison Community Hospital.

She was born February 28, 1947 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Glen and Anna Belle Loftis Benda. On March 6, 1965 she married Jerry Gentry in Dallas City.

Mrs. Gentry owned and operated the Double G Restaurant in Fort Madison from 1982 - 1992. She then worked for Catfish Bend Casino for 15 years as an assistant in human resources. She enjoyed her family, playing cards with her grandson, camping and hummingbirds.
She is survived by her husband, 2 sons, Darin Gentry of Fort Madison and Bryon Gentry of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, 1 grandson, Trevor Keith Gentry, her mother, Anna Benda of Fort Madison, 3 brothers, Mike and Dave Benda both of Fort Madison and Steve Benda of West Point, Iowa and 2 sisters, Laura Jane Hubbard of Jesup, Iowa and Kelly Jean Day of Anamosa, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father, 1 brother and 1 sister.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 11, 2011 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Rev. Larry Menschel officiating. Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery near Dallas City. The family will meet with friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the American Cancer Society.
