Amanda Lynn Mehaffy, 40, of Blandinsville, Illinois passed away at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at her home.

She was born August 27, 1981 in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Larry Brown and Teresa Cox. On September 2, 2017 she married Brian Mehaffy in Burlington, Iowa.

Amanda was a 1999 graduate of LaHarpe High School. She attended Carl Sandburg College for 2 years and earned her bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising from W.I.U. She worked in Chicago for Target and Victorias Secret for a few years, returning to LaHarpe in 2014. Shortly thereafter, she began her career as a Realtor. She worked for Ruhl and Ruhl Realtors and most recently for Century 21, both in West Burlington, Iowa. Amanda was a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Southeast Iowa Board of Realtors and the Illinois Association of Realtors.

She, along with her mother, baked cakes for birthdays and weddings. She loved home decorating and remodeling. She was also a member of the LaHarpe Union Church.

She is survived by her husband, Brian, one son Coen, at home, her mother, Teresa Cox of LaHarpe, her father, Larry Brown of LaHarpe, one brother, Bryan Brown also of LaHarpe, nieces and nephews, Kylie and Logan Brown, Peyton Lindquist, Henry and Hazel Mehaffy, several aunts, uncles, cousins and her dog, Millie.

She was preceded in death by her cousins, Jamie DeJaynes and Brody Logan and her grandparents, Harold and Irene Brown and Charles and Janet Cox.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the LaHarpe Union Church with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the Crane Cemetery near Lomax, Illinois. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Union Church where the family will meet with friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday.
