Obituary

Alan L. "Fuzz" Driskell, 84, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away at 3:48 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at his home.

Mr. Driskell was born February 11, 1942 in LaHarpe, the son of Wendell and Helen (Brown) Driskell. On July 3, 1965 he married Katherine S. "Kathy" Driskell in Carthage, Illinois. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2025.

Fuzz was a graduate of Northwestern High School. Following high school, he received his Bachelor's Degree from Northwest Missouri State University and later his Master's Degree from Northeast Missouri State University. He began his teaching and coaching career at Media-Wever High School, Media, Illinois.  He then moved into administration and eventually served as a principal for the LaHarpe School District.  He made a career change in the 1980's and worked for First State Bank in LaHarpe until his retirement.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was a longtime member of the Blandinsville Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include two children: Wendi Harrell (Eric Appelquist) and Phil Driskell (Helen Driskell); four grandchildren: Chris Harrell (Alicia Harrell), Catie Harrell (fiancée Brian Lemenager), Nolan Driskell, and Caelan Driskell; and two great-grandchildren, Camden and Carter Harrell. Also surviving is one brother: Joe Driskell of Blandinsville, and one sister: Janice Ritenour of Dubuque, Iowa.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter: Michele Driskell; two brothers: Wendell "Wimp" Driskell Jr, and Donald "Red" Driskell and one sister: Carolyn Moore.

Banks & Beals Funeral Home of LaHarpe is assisting the family.

The funeral service for Fuzz will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2026 at the Blandinsville Christian Church. Burial will follow at Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville. Masonic Rites will be held at the church.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

A memorial fund has been established for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Blandinsville Christian Church.
