Mary M. Douglas
Mrs. Mary M. Douglas, 91, of rural Dallas City, Illinois passed away a 2:00 A.M. Monday, December 9, 2013 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center, LaHarpe, Illinois.
Mary was born September 22, 1922 near Durham, IL the daughter of Merlind and Clara Edith Wagner Rice. On July 5, 1942 she married Lloyd Douglas in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2010.
Mrs. Douglas was a Colusa, IL High School graduate. She was a lifetime member of the Durham United Methodist Church. She served as a 4H Leader, she liked taking photos, working on genealogy, and taking trips with her husband in their car and plane. She loved the farm, and enjoyed helping her father and later her husband.
She is survived by one daughter, Peggy (Ray) Derrick of Congress, AZ, one son, Larry (Lois) Douglas of rural Dallas City, four grandchildren, Beth (Rodney) Pence, Richard (Melanie) Douglas, Derek Eimer and Sheryl Douglas, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Lloyd.
Services will be held at 1:30p.m. Friday, December 13, 2013 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Rev. Bob Wagner and Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in the Durham Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:30p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Durham United Methodist Church and the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.
