Betty D. Welch

Mrs. Betty D. Welch, 77, of Blandinsville, Illinois passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 5:15 AM at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center in LaHarpe.

She was born October 21, 1934 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Howard and Margaret McCullough Wyman. On January 9, 1971 she married Richard Welch in Kewanee, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2000.

She was a 1952 graduate of Galesburg High School. She was a member of the Springfield, IL Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club. Following their retirement, she and her husband traveled extensively on their motorcycle.

She is survived by 3 sons, Robert (Carol) Sargeant of Blandinsville, Harold (Linda) Woollums of Jacksonville, Illinois and David (Mary) Woollums of Franklin, Illinois, 4 daughters, Sherry (Lanny) Smith of Indiana, Nancy (Ed) Shaw of Jefferson City, Missouri, Carol (Dana) Goacher of Springfield, Illinois and Diana (Steve) Baker of New Berlin, Illinois, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, John Wyman and David Guarin both of Galesburg and 4 sisters, Mary Craig of Altona, Illinois, Dorothy VanDyan of Texas, Willma Caldwell of Galesburg and Rose (John) Wilfred of Danville, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 brother, Charles Wyman and 1 sister, Caroline Johnson.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center or the LaHarpe Christian Church.
