Betty Jane Quigley

Betty J. Quigley, age 78 of Oquawka, Illinois died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday January 22, 2012 in the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa. She was born January 18, 1934 in Middle Grove, Illinois, the daughter of Bradley and Paula Miller Gregory.

Betty had worked as a Clerk in the Henderson County Courthouse for twenty nine years and served as Henderson County Circuit Clerk for four years. She also worked as a waitress at Meling’s Restaurant in Monmouth for many years. She was a member of the Henderson County Republican Women, The Red Hat Ladies, and the Media and Biggsville United Presbyterian Churches.

Survivors include two daughters- Denise (Clark Kelly) Jones of Biggsville, IL., Glenda (Dan Smith) Quigley of Burlington, IA., one son- Patrick (Kathy) Quigley of Media, IL., seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters, and three siblings in infancy.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church. The funeral for Betty will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday January 27, 2012 in the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, near Media. Memorials Have been established for the Great River Hospice House and the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church.
