John Edward Moore

John E. Moore, age 82 of rural Blandinsville, Illinois died at 3:42 p.m. Friday January 20, 2012 in the Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb, Illinois. He was born May 22, 1929 near Raritan, Illinois, the son of Harvey and Bertha Rosen Moore.

Mr. Moore was a graduate of Media-Wever High School in Media, Illinois, then served in the Army from 1949 to 1952. He then farmed with his brothers for fifty eight years near Raritan. He was a member of the Blandinsville American Legion Post # 424. He enjoyed hosting the annual Raritan Fireworks displays on the Moore Boys’ farms. He was a humble, gentle man and he loved his dog “Rex”.

Survivors include three brothers- James L. Moore, Robert E. Moore, and Lewis W. (Karen) Moore, all of rural Blandinsville, one sister in law- Margaret Moore of Normal, IL., three nieces- Deborah Moore of Bloomington, IL., Kathy Moore of Normal, IL., Lynne Anne Moore of Ashburn, VA., one nephew- Lewis Lee Moore of Blandinsville, one great niece- Maria Moore, and two great nephews- Austin and Jackson Moore. He was preceded in death by one brother- Harvey Franklin Moore.

The funeral service for John E .Moore will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday January 23, 2012 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst with Rev. Terry Muller officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Raritan Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Banks & Beals.
