Betty L. Reed
Betty Lenora Reed, 79, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 at 8:46 P.M. At the OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois.
She was born on January 21, 1932 near Warsaw, Illinois, the daughter of Gilbert Cornelius and Lyla Bethena Cox Shipe. On October 12, 1951 she married Keith Reed. They later divorced.
Betty worked at Champion Spark Plug in Burlington, Iowa for 24 years and was a member of the U.A.W.
Surviving are one son, Randall (Mary) Reed of Little York, Illinois and one daughter, Sheryl (Harry) Baker of Youngstown, Illinois, two grandchildren, Loren Reed and fiancé Jennifer Carroll and Meagan (Oscar) Franco and five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Emogene Barr and Nancy Morris and one brother, Francis Shipe.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw, Illinois with Rev. Jim Clayton Officiating. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe is assisting with arrangements.
