Eleanor Ann Hodges
Mrs. Eleanor Ann Hodges, 83, of St. Charles, Missouri passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 in St. Charles.
She was born June 7, 1928. On August 12, 1950 she married Max Hodges in LaHarpe, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1998.
Eleanor accomplished her Master’s Degree of Arts in Teaching in 1980. She was a librarian for 25 years in the Special School District. She devoted much of her life volunteering for many organizations including the History Museum, St. Louis Botanical Gardens and Meals on Wheels. She was a very devoted Christian involved with the Glendale Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling, playing Bridge, bowling and golf.
She is survived by one son, Michael J. Hodges of Harrison, Arkansas, one daughter, Catherine Ann Lucas of St. Louis, Missouri and two grandchildren, Haley Hodges and Andrew Lucas.
Memorial services were held at Bopp Chapel in Kirkwood, Missouri on December 27, 2011. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. Banks & Beals Funeral Home, LaHarpe, Illinois is in charge of local arrangements.
