B. Louise White

B. Louise White, age 85 of Stronghurst, Illinois died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday June 10, 2010 in Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center in Stronghurst. She was born August 28, 1924 near Smithshire, Illinois, the daughter of Luther Jacob and Anna Elizabeth Hennenfent Haines. On June 12, 1948, she married Lyman Rucker White in Kirkwood, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 30, 2003.

At the age of five, Louise moved with her family to a farm near Carman, Illinois. She attended the Ellison Valley Grade School through fifth grade, and later Stronghurst Schools throughout junior high and high school. Prior to her marriage, she had worked in the bookkeeping department of Iowa Southern Utilities for three years, and at Hamilton-Miller Grocery Store in Stronghurst for one year. She was a member of the Stronghurst United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter- Debra (Doug) Hale of Stronghurst, one son - Randy White of Iowa City, IA., two grandchildren - Elizabeth (Nick Tapscott) Swan and James Hale, one great granddaughter - Anna Louise Tapscott, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother in infancy - Therman Haines.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday June 14, 2010 at Banks & Beals with Rev. Anita Munden officiating. Burial will follow in the Stronghurst Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab in Stronghurst.
