Lyman Dewayne Harvey

L. Dewayne Harvey, age 78 of Peru, lllinois died at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday May 25, 2010 in St. Margaret Medical Center in Spring Valley, Illinois. He was born October 4, 1931 near Stronghurst, the son of Clarence A. and Georgia Leinbach Harvey. On November 9, 1951, he married Ruth Ann Anderson in Stronghurst. She preceded him in death on August 16, 2003.

Mr. Harvey was a livestock buyer for Interstate Producers Livestock Association in Peoria for forty eight years, retiring in 1995. He had lived in Peoria for many years before moving to Peru in 2004. He enjoyed golfing and fishing, and was a member of the Farm Bureau.

Survivors include one daughter - Chris (Rich) Wasik of Peru, IL., one son - Craig (Gail) Harvey of Mitchellville, Iowa, four grandchildren - Katlyn Harvey, Jessica Rolwes, Brett and Barry Wasik, and one sister - Roxana Harvey of Hico, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one sister - Linda Harvey.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. The funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Banks & Beals with Rev. Jeff Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Stronghurst Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Stronghurst Ambulance Service. Send a condolence here.
