Charles E. Nylin

Mr. Charles E. Nylin, 67, of Dallas City, Illinois passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 8:27 P.M. at the Fort Madison Community Hospital.
He was born June 7, 1942 in Keithsburg, Illinois, the son of Robert and Bertha Mae Landrith Nylin. On December 22, 1972 he married Linda Ikerd in Hamilton, Illinois.
Mr. Nylin served in the US Navy. He retired from JI Case Co. in Burlington, Iowa where he had worked for 28 ½ years. He was on the board at Harris Cemetery and was currently serving as the sexton.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, Charles Nylin Jr. of Glenwood, Iowa, Robert Nylin of Burlington, Iowa and Jason Nylin of Eldridge, Iowa, one daughter, Jaime Shultz of Smithshire, Illinois, 6 grandchildren, three brothers, Randy Nylin of Keithsburg, Illinois, Robbie Nylin of Lincoln, Illinois and Ronnie Nylin of Tucson, Arizona and two sisters, Sandy Noel of Galesburg, Illinois and Judy Sanders of Hampton, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 12 , 2010 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Rev. Larry Menschel officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Harris Cemetery, rural Dallas City. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday. A memorial fund has been established for the Lomax Ambulance Service or the Grace Bible Church.
