A. Dean Dunn

Mr. A. Dean Dunn, 72, of Pontoosuc, Illinois passed away Monday, April 26, 2010 at 5:59 PM at the Fort Madison Community Hospital.

He was born January 27, 1938 in Kewanee, Illinois the son of Elmer and Mattie Grant Dunn. On February 26, 1966 he married Linda S. Kruzan in Canton, Illinois.

Mr. Dunn served in the US Navy from 1957 - 1961. He worked for Caterpillar Co. in Peoria, Illinois for 31 1/2 years, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed fishing, carpenter work, working as a stage hand for his son and stock car racing with his daughter. He was a man of many talents. His greatest joy was his wife, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, Shelly Ann DeSpain of Bradford, Illinois and Deana L. Cramberg of Dallas City, Illinois, 1 son, William R. Dunn of Pontoosuc, 9 grandchildren, Randy Jo, Mollie Dawn, Brittany, Jessica, Tyler, Katasha, Loren, Kensee Jo, and Dawson, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Bruce and Gene Dunn of Kewanee and 1 sister, Terry McCann of McMinville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City where the family will meet with friends from 6 until 8 PM Thursday. Military rites will be given by the Dallas City American Legion. Cremation will follow the visitation. Send a condolence here.
