Lois C. Bradshaw

Lois Clare Bradshaw, 91, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Friday, April 9, 2010 at 8:15 P.M. at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center.
She was born January 5, 1919 in Pilot Grove Township, Hancock County, Illinois, the daughter of Wicliffe and Cleola Mamie Ketchum Hendrix. On December 30, 1938 she married William E. Bradshaw in What Cheer, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1985.
She is survived by two daughters, Clare (George) Burr of Los Angeles, California and Sally (Richard) Rasmussen of LaHarpe , 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
She was a graduate of Carthage High School and Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois. She worked for a time in Clifford Warner’s Law office in LaHarpe and following her marriage to Bill, who was editor of The Quill newspaper in LaHarpe , she worked as a linotype operator. In 1968 she and her husband moved to Quincy where he worked for the Quincy Herald-Whig and Lois worked at the Quincy Clinic as a secretary. In 1981 they retired and moved back to LaHarpe. She was an active member of the LaHarpe Historical and Genealogical Society and the LaHarpe Christian Church.
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the LaHarpe Christian Church with Darren Beachy officiating. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday.
