Mildred "Tommy" Hendricks

Mildred “Tommy” Hendricks, 90, of Dallas City, Illinois passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 5:40 A.M. at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center, LaHarpe, Illinois.

She was born March 1, 1919 in Colusa, Illinois the daughter of Clay and Mary Lambright Wildrick. She married Nate Hendricks on March 17, 1940 in Dallas City, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Penny (Kent) Robertson, Dallas City, two granddaughters, Mattie and Caitlin Robertson, one brother, Wendell Wildrick of Carthage, one sister, Marilee “Pug” Price of Elvaston, Illinois, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Marvin, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Tommy graduated from high school in Murrayville, Illinois in 1937. She moved with her parents to the Dallas City area in 1938. Tommy was a homemaker and worked with her husband as his bookkeeper. She was a 50 year member of the Burnside Order of Eastern Star, a member of the Dallas City First Christian Church and the Senior Citizens. She loved to make chocolate chip cookies for her granddaughters and was an avid Cub fan.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Tony Newton officiating. Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery near Dallas City. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home, Sunday from 11:00 A.M. until time of services. A memorial fund has been established for the Dallas City Senior Citizens Center, the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center or the Dallas City First Christian Church. Send a condolence here.
