Lucille Alexander Hustead

Lucille Alexander Hustead, age 96 of Stronghurst, Illinois died at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday November 11, 2009 in the Oak Wood Estates Retirement Village in Stronghurst. She was born August 16, 1913 in Gorin, Missouri, the daughter of Dr. James F. and Louise Fry Alexander. On May 15, 1930, she married Gilbert Hustead in Memphis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2004.

Mrs. Hustead was a member of the Stronghurst Community Senior Citizens and the Stronghurst Christian Church.

Survivors include one son - Charles Hustead of Granite City, IL., six daughters - Darlene (Ralph) Tatge, Joan (Ronnie) Stamp, Betty (Bob) Smith, and Judy (Howard) Duncan, all of Stronghurst, IL., Isabel (Carroll) Livermore of LaHarpe, IL., Joyce (Jerry) McCarthy of O’Fallon, IL., seventeen grandchildren, forty one great grandchildren, and eleven great great grandchildren. They all loved her very much. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, two brothers, and one great grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 14, 2009 in the Stronghurst Christian Church with Pastor Ryan Loucks officiating. Burial will follow in the Stronghurst Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Friday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday.
