Jack Senf 
Mr. Jack Merle Senf, 77, of Dallas City, Illinois passed away Thursday, July30, 2009 at 5:02 A.M. at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa after a long battle with cancer.
He was born January 21, 1932 in Fort Madison, Iowa, the son of Oscar and Delilah Stewart Senf. On June 18, 1954 he married Betty Lou Peitz in Kingsville, Texas.
Surviving are his wife, three children, Mike Senf of Burlington, Iowa, Cindy Peryam of Big Pine Key, Florida and Pat Senf of Flagstaff, Arizona. Also surviving are one brother Jim Senf of Naples, Florida and one sister, Shirley Boon of Fort Madison, Iowa, 15 nieces and nephews, 9 grand children and 6 great children. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters and one niece.
In 1948 he enlisted in the US Navy where he served for 29 years. He retired in 1977 as a Senior Chief Air Traffic Controller. From 1977 - 1994 he worked for the Fort Madison Community School District as the Director of Maintenance. He was a life member of the VFW, American Legion, Fleet Reserve Association and the American Military Retirees Association.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage, watching westerns and listening to bluegrass and country music.
Graveside services, with military rites, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 3, 2009 at the Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, Iowa. Per his request, there will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Great River Hospice House. Send a condolence here.
