Ethel F. Kraft

Mrs. Ethel F. Kraft, 96, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 9:30 A.M. at her daughter’s home near LaHarpe, where she had resided the past 10 years.
She was born September 20, 1912 near Walnut Grove, Illinois, the daughter of William and Nora Taylor Hobby. On September 20, 1930 she married Glenn O. Kraft in Rock Island, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2000.
Mrs. Kraft lived all of her life near LaHarpe. She was a member of the LaHarpe Christian Church and had attended the Webster Community Church. She was also a member of the Happy Helpers Club for 72 years. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always attended their sporting events and school activities.
She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Eddington of LaHarpe, two grandchildren, Deanna Cibak of Newton, New Jersey and Dean Eddington of LaHarpe, six great-grandchildren, Lauren, Kim and Brian Cibak, Dana Blythe, Erica and Tess Eddington, one brother, Lewis Hobby of Burlington, Iowa and one sister, Betty Link of LaHarpe and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter, Melva Joyce Kraft, six brothers, Edwin, Melvin, Arnold, Henry, Kenneth and Ross Hobby and one sister, Leola Carey and her son-in-law, Dale Eddington.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Larry Hobby officiating. There will be no formal family visitation, but friends are welcome to stop at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe between 2:00 and 8:00 P.M. Tuesday. A memorial fund has been established.
