Roberta A. Haines

Roberta A. Haines, 92, of La Harpe, Illinois died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at 12:20 P.M. at the La Harpe Davier Health Care Center.

She was born July 16, 1916, near Fountain Green, the daughter of Kerus and Zola (Barr) Huston. She graduated from Fountain Green High School and on December 23, 1939, she married Ellis Haines in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1999.
They lived much of their married life in Bushnell where she was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star and Thimble Club. In 1979 they moved to La Harpe. She was a member of the Union Church of La Harpe.

Surviving is one sister, Dorothy (Jerry) Baker of Quincy, a nephew, Steve (Lynda) Baker of Quincy, and three nieces, Dianne (Rick) Balmer of La Harpe, Donna (Wendell) Cunningham of Quincy and Kathy (Terry) Anastas of Quincy. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Keith and Edward Huston.

Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb, Illinois. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:00 P.M. Monday where the family will meet with friends Tuesday from 9:30 until time of services.
