Betty LaVerna Rodeffer

Betty LaVerna Rodeffer, age 75 of rural Stronghurst, Illinois, died at 12:47 a.m. Sunday March 15, 2009 in the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa. She was born May 20, 1933 near Stronghurst, the daughter of Judd C. and Lois Rankin Wetterling. On August 30, 1952, she married James Rodeffer in Burlington, Iowa.

Mrs Rodeffer was a graduate of Terre Haute, Illinois High School. She had worked at Sylvania Corporation, and later at General Electric in Burlington, retiring in 1995. She loved horses and all animals, and was a member of the American Paint Horse Association.

Survivors include her husband, one son - Randy Rodeffer of rural Stronghurst, and one granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother - Wayne Wetterling, sisters - Wanetta and Christine, and twin sisters in infancy.

Friends may call as they desire from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. No family visitation is planned. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 18, 2009 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst with Rev. Tom Wright officiating.
