Alicia Maria Hinojosa

Alicia Maria Hinojosa, age 8, of Lomax, Illinois passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

She was born November 2, 2000 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Plutarco “Pete” and Christa S. Taylor Hinojosa Jr.

She was a student in Amanda Twaddle’s class at the Carthage Primary School. She loved music, dancing and swimming. Alicia loved life and everyone she met.

Surviving are her parents of Lomax, her 10 year old sister, Olivia N. Hinojosa, at home, maternal grandparents, Barry and Debbie Taylor of St. Ann, Missouri and paternal grandparents, Plutarco “Pete” and Hortencia Hinojosa Sr. of Lomax, her great-grandparents, Ralph and Christine Clifton of Overland, Missouri and Susan Fortner-South of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and two aunts, Raquel (Hank) Cisneros of Hamilton, Illinois and Mary (James Rowley) Hinojosa of Fort Madison, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her uncle, Nickolas Hinojosa and her great-aunt, Janice Clifton.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 13, 2009 at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nauvoo, Illinois with Father Tony Trosley officiating. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Nauvoo. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Thursday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City where the Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. followed by visitation with the family until 8:00 P.M. A memorial fund has been established for Amanda Twaddle’s special needs class at the Carthage Primary school.
