Alvin Feddersen

Alvin Feddersen, age 82 of Stronghurst, Illinois, died at 11:04 P.M. Tuesday February 17, 2009 in OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, Illinois. He was born July 21, 1926 in Clinton County, Iowa, the son of Jens and Emma Witt Feddersen.

Alvin had lived with his niece Carol Olsen, and her husband James, for the last thirteen years in Monmouth and Stronghurst. Prior to that he had lived in Wheatland and Eldridge, Iowa. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Stronghurst.

On February 17th, he spent his first day with his beloved “Sissy” in Heaven. His last day on earth was spent doing what he loved most, as he was taken to Gordon Behrents Senior Center in Galesburg by WACC Transportation of Monmouth. A massive heart attack took him to his eternal home.

Survivors include two sisters in law - Mary and Hilda Feddersen and one brother in law - Howard Kearney. Also survivors are ten nieces and nephews, seventeen great and fourteen great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers - Arnold, Harry, Ralph and Robert Feddersen and by his twin sister - Alice Kearney.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday February 22, 2009 in the Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Stronghurst with Revs. Tom Larsen and James Olsen officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 P.M. Monday in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa. Memorials have been established for the Gordon Behrents Senior Center in Galesburg and WACC Transportation of Monmouth.
